16 Anti Scientology Links - Build yourself a Religion!

Question: How many Scientologists does it take to change a lightbulb?
Answer
:None, Scientologists live in the dark.

Scientology is perhaps the most dangerous cult in the world. Registered as a ‘Church’ to gain tax-free status, ex-members all agree on one thing: The ‘Church’ is only interested in squeezing as much money out of you as it can.

A seemingly-innocent free ‘personality-test’ is the lure, and a billion-year-indenture is the goal. Beginning with the promises of a better, brighter, more healthy you, the ‘Church’ will perform an ‘audit’ on you using a fancy-looking but ultimately-useless gadget, which claims to uncover the evil ‘thetans’ (fragments of alien souls) which are holding you back. For only a couple hundred dollars, you can begin a program to dislodge these thetans and move on to become a ‘clear’, whereupon you will have the power of mind-over-matter and the ability to do anything.

Unfortunately, it seems that the more ‘thetans’ you uncover, the more there are, and thus begins a never-ending journey of you paying buckets of cash to the ‘Church’ to have endless rounds of ‘auditing’, during which you are encouraged through coaching to reveal every little dark and dirty secret about your life, which will be duly recorded, duplicated and stored at HQ of the ‘Church’.

Initial ‘training-courses’ are designed to induce an hypnotic-like-state, with hours and hours of mind-numbing repetitious exercises in which emotions and complaint are suppressed, and reward given sparsely. In other circles, this is known as brain-washing, except in the ‘Church’, you’re paying for the privilege.

The founder of the ‘Church’, L. Ron Hubbard “thought of himself as the Beast, 666 incarnate”, according to his son (himself a member for many years). L. Ron was an always-broke science-fiction writer who used to tell people that “the way to make a million was to start a religion”.

Then he wrote the book “Dianetics”, the cornerstone of the Scientology religion, and thus it began…

I am very happy that this dangerous and ridiculous cult has not taken hold here in Brazil. If it does, I will campaign to make it open-season on all scientologists. In fact, why not on all religions? There are equally false and duplicitous.
